Dr. Royster
Reginald L. Royster Jr. was born and raised in the West Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia. He graduated from William Penn Charter School in 1981. He received a BA in 1985, after attending The University of Virginia. He then enrolled at Tuskegee University's School of Veterinary Medicine where he received his DVM in 1989. After graduating , Dr. Royster fulfilled his surgical and medical internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington D.C.
In August of 1990, Dr. Royster returned to the Philadelphia area and joined Dr. Carl Cousins as an associate veterinarian to The Haverford Animal Hospital. Dr. Cousins had been in practice at the hospital for over 30 years when he retired in 1994. Upon Dr. Cousins's retirement,
Dr. Royster purchased the practice and became hospital director.
Dr. Royster continues to practice at The Haverford Animal Hospital where he focuses on small animal medicine. He is also interested in fish medicine, and has treated a number of aquarium fish. Dr. Royster is also a member of the following associations and service clubs:
- AAFP: The American Association of Feline Practitioners is an association of veterinarians dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the treatment of feline patients.
- AAHA: The American Animal Hospital Association is an association that sets the standards by which an animal hospital should operate and conduct itself.
- AVMA: American Veterinary Medical Association
- PVMA: Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association
- Dr. Royster is an active member of The Ardmore Rotary Club and The Kappa Alpha Psi Service Fraternity.
